This years ceremony was organised to honour the District and International winner of 2017: Vivian Simonis, who was represented by Zonta Arnhem. With the Jane M Klausman Women in Business Scholarship Vivian was enabled to start a Master study European Business Law at the Rotterdam Erasmus Univesity.

What impressed the evaluating committee most is her vision on the impact investment banks had on the most recent financial crisis of 2007. Vivian states that there are lessons to be learned from this and aims to be part of the movement that can be made from this lessons toward a the positive impact, investment banks may have on economic stability and the prevention of future crisis.

One of her referents states: "Vivian is dedicated to pursue an impactfull career in the domain of finance and that she is very consciously grafting a path towards that goal". The professor ends his uplifting litany with the words: " I of course regret seeing her leave, but some birds are simply meant to fly".

What else can we say... Zonta will love to see Vivian fly!
