Touching moments at this year’s colorful charity concert

A morning full of goosebumps and solidarity in action—that’s how the traditional charity concert on the second Sunday of Advent by ZONTA Club Münster was billed. President Almut Kellermeyer echoed this message in her speech at the packed Erbdrostenhof, and she certainly didn’t promise too much. After presenting the sponsored projects “Tanz Theater Stimme” (Dance Theater Voice) in Münster and the international project “Ending Child Marriage,” and pointing out the common concern of all people regardless of gender, singers from WOW (Women of Wuppertal), a choir consisting of singers of different nationalities, performed in full sonic and visual splendor. The authenticity of the singers was touching, and the duet Bajuschki Baju, sung by a Russian and a Ukrainian, was particularly moving.

The Eritrean pianist Noel Araya then gave a virtuoso performance of folk songs from his homeland, which he had arranged for piano.

After the intermission, the duo Levke Linder and Kai Grenz, both 18 years old, surprised and impressed with their enchantingly beautiful voices and heartfelt interpretation, accompanied colorfully and virtuosically on the piano by Prof. Ulrich Rademacher. They brought lively interpersonal encounters to life through duets from operas, cantatas, and art songs by Mozart, Bach, Schumann, and Brahms.

After a seemingly endless standing ovation for this special “concert with a message,” everyone was thanked, especially singer Annette Kleine, who has curated the concerts since the club was founded in 2001.
