Dr. Daina Mandewo | Zonta e-club UK
Her work is driven by a deep commitment to improving access to women’s health services through ethically grounded innovation to improve cervical cancer screening services and HPV vaccinations of girls in Zimbabwe. Drawing on her clinical background and health systems experience, Dr. Mandewo has worked on initiatives aimed at improving access to HPV vaccination and screening for 1013 women and girls who are often excluded from preventive care due to cost, geography and weak health infrastructure.

She is especially motivated by the disproportionate burden of cervical cancer borne by women in sub-Saharan Africa and the gap between available medical solutions and real-world access. Currently, she is pursuing business studies (MBA) at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, after which she intends to start a healthcare investment firm with a primary focus on femtech and women’s health.

Having spent the past seven years as an upstream petroleum engineer, Pendor is pursuing an MBA at University of Oxford to sharpen her commercial acumen as a key step in her path to drive the ongoing energy transition.
At Oxford, she is a co-chair of the Public Policy and Global Affairs Oxford Business Network, where she and others galvanise students to deliver impact in global policy.

Finally, as a Laidlaw scholar and a co-chair of outreach with the Africa Business Alliance, she’s helping others, especially women, take up space, using education as a catalyst.
