CONGRATULATIONS!
It has been a real pleasure and, as always, a great challenge to evaluate all the magnificent applications forwarded to us by our clubs. These young women are so impressive in their engagement, their awareness of the challenges we are still facing, and in their vision of a more equal society.
The YWLA award provides a great opportunity to reach out to this generation, to introduce them to ZONTA, not only locally but internationally. It is also a chance to learn more about our international network by inviting them to attend meetings and conferences.
Therefore, it would be wonderful if we could finally find ways, both on area and on district level, to secure some financial support by setting aside a small budget for those of our awardees interested in attending these events.
We often emphasize the importance of attracting young members for ZONTA. Well, they are already there, some already as young members in our clubs, some in the Golden Z clubs or in ZAC, our Zonta Awardees Connected network.
We only need to spread the word, about these possibilities to keep in touch with our young women.

This has been my last biennium as the D 29 YWLA chair. After twelve years it is time for a change. I am happy that we have found a wonderful successor who will be announced shortly.
