Making change happen!

More than 200 Zontians joint the District 29 Conference in Essen at the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex.

The motto ‘Making change happen’ was a call to continue pursuing our goals together. The participants reflected what they want to achieve during the biennium as well as at the conference. They networked, discussed important current and future topics, developed ideas and concepts together to drive change and take action.

Therefore, the conference offered a range of topics and suitable formats and time to exchange, to share ideas and to discuss our focus areas and goals with experts.

In short: to think and act outside the box to make change possible.

For example:

  • two unique World Cafés, led by experts as well as
  • special discussion corners – even with Zonta International Director Ela Pandya from the Zonta Club of Portville, USA
  • keynote speakers and
  • a panel discussion with former award winners

Especially the discussion with the ‘next generation’ showed the diverse side of the Zonta world and proved also that Zonta can build bridges even across generations and how important women’s solidarity is in making change possible. It also impressively demonstrated how crucial regular, intensive exchange is here, especially with the younger generation. The various international Zonta awards in particular offer a great opportunity in this regard.

Zonta spirit at its best!

Big thanks to everyone who brought the conference to life:

  • It was an honour for our District to welcome the International Director, Ela Pandya from the Zonta Club of Portville, USA. She emphasized the issues and status of Zonta’s international efforts and in addition she participated in our discussions and exchanges throughout the whole conference.
  • Our conference was supported by interesting female musicians who also have Zonta biographies, evidence for Zonta’s great diversity.
  • Special thanks also to the keynote speakers and the guests of the panel discussion.
  • To make this conference possible, many dedicated Zontians from across clubs, the District 29 board and many others have worked together – for example to those who took on responsibility for running the World Cafés and presentations. This was unique and has shown how much female power we have in the district.
  • Big thanks, last but not least, to the District 29 board.

Together we achieved great moments. Together we make change happen on the Zonta path!

With warm regards and best wishes
