The 2024 Zonta International Convention of June 27-30 in Brisbane Australia decides on the future worldwide Women in STEM Award.

CSW67 reaffirmed the importance of women and girls’ full, equal and meaningful participation and leadership in science, technology and innovation, and expressed concern on the limited progress in closing the gender gap in access to and use of technologies, connectivity, digital literacy and education. It also expressed grave concern about the continuity and interrelation between offline and online violence, harassment and discrimination against women and girls and condemned the increase of such acts.

Zonta will demonstrate its commitment to educational equality through meaningful fellowships, scholarships and awards that address equality of access or equality of opportunity for women and girls.

Zonta District 29 is happy to announce a Women in STEM scholarship in its budget year 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 of euro 1000 each year.

Women pursuing a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) degree program at an accredited university/college who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field and are living or studying in Zonta District 29 are eligible.

The application procedure for the D29 Women in STEM scholarship will be presented in all 5 Areas of District 29 at president and Area-meetings by the Committee members of D29.
