International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8 , is an opportunity to mobilize and call for action and the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for action, with a view to a better and more equal world for all.

The 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, from 10 to 21 March 2025 at the UN, marks the 30th anniversary of the 1995 International Conference (“Beijing +30”). Five years before the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals deadline, the international community is making “an assessment of current challenges affecting the implementation of the agenda for action and the achievement of gender equality and women’s empowerment”.
